There is a marvelous sculpture design of the bastion and the fort entrance, which is not seen elsewhere. They are all carved from a single rock. One of the route goes through the royal entrance, while the other has been made by the villagers by carving steps (Khunti) in the rock. Khunti climbing attracts adventurous trekkers. Then while traversing the pinnacle base we come across a very huge cave and water cisterns. From here the other twin pinnacle named Machindragad on the opposite side looks very beautiful. Walking ahead further there is a steep climb to the pinnacle of Gorakhgad exposed to the valley. From the summit, we get magnificent views of Ahupe Ghat, Siddhagad, Machindragad. The fort is named after the saint Gorakhnath, at the summit, there is a Mahadev temple. And the biggest adventure starts from here. 300 FT. from the top of Gorakhgad.
