Rann of Kutch:

Location: The Rann of Kutch is a vast salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch district of Gujarat, India. It is one of the largest salt deserts in the world.

Best Time to Visit: The ideal time to visit is during the winter months (October to February) when the weather is cooler and the region comes alive with various festivals and cultural events.

 

Dholavira:

Location: Dholavira is an ancient archaeological site located on the Khadir island of the Rann of Kutch. It's one of the five largest Harappan sites in the Indian subcontinent.

Historical Significance: Dholavira dates back to approximately 4500 years, making it one of the most important archaeological sites of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization.

Highlights:

 

  • City Ruins: Explore the well-preserved ruins of the ancient city, which include a complex system of reservoirs, streets, and buildings.

  • Sophisticated Water Conservation: Dholavira is known for its advanced water conservation system, including channels, reservoirs, and well-planned city architecture.

  • The Signboard: One of the most famous discoveries at Dholavira is a large wooden signboard with ten large-sized letters in the ancient Harappan script, providing valuable insights into their language.

  • Museum: There is a museum near the site which houses artifacts found during excavations, providing further context about the ancient civilization.

    Detailed Itinerary:

    Day 1: Departure from hometown, arrival at Ahm and Overnight journey to Dholavira

    1. Board early morning train to Mumbai from Pune (only if Pune to Ahmedabad train is not available else we take a direct train to Ahmedabad)
    2. Reporting at Ahmedabad: 10.30 PM

    3. Pick up location: within 1Km of Ahmedabad Railway Station (Landmark and location will be shared via WhatsApp)

    4. Train Details: Mumbai/Surat/Vadodara to Ahmedabad

      1) AC double Dacker - 12931 -  02.30 pm from Mumbai

      2) Karnavati Train - 12933 -  02.00 pm from Mumbai

    Day 2: Dholavira sightseeing - Arrival at Dholavira, Sunrise in the desert midway

    1) It is safe for solo travellers ?
    Ans ;- Yes, solo female travelers are completely safe with our professionally-trained trip leaders who will do everything in their power to put you at ease. You are unlikely to be the only female traveler on this trip. As we get a high number of female bookings for this trip.

     

    2) How will you split the stay ?
    Ans:- Three or four people will share the stays. No requests will be entertained, and the sharing will be strictly gender-based.

     

    3) Can i get a couple room ?
    Ans:- Yes, you can; however, there will be additional fees which are mentioned in the add-on section. You must notify us of this before booking.

     

    4) Is is possible to eat non-veg food in rann of kutch or dholvira?

    Ans:- Gujarat is predominantly a vegetarian state. Even the meals we serve are nutritious vegetarian options. However, some communities prepare meat and seafood dishes

     

    5) Is the given time span sufficient for the trip?

    Ans:-Yes, we prepare our itineraries in a way that you get to explore each and everything at a comfortable pace.
